Last month I had my first encounter with sequin pumps as my cousin Bekka wore the cutest silver sequin pumps to my brother's wedding. She must have been on to something with this trend because fashion-forward celebs like Rachel Bilson and Lauren Conrad have both been spotted wearing them recently. Trend: Ruffled Shoulders

Ruffles are girly and feminine--and a trend I have enjoyed this past year.

Ruffles are back for fall but with a tougher, more structured look. I LOVE this dress from French Connection.

Have to See: The September Issue

When we are young, September means back to school shopping and Friday night football games. But as we get older, we tap into our inner fashionistas, and anxiously delve into the September issues of our favorite fashion magazines. Ahhhh, fall fashion...this coupled with the glamorous behind the scenes look at how it all comes together it exactly why I can not wait to see The September Issue.

The September Issue is the highly anticipated new documentary about the making of Vogue's September 2007 issue, which was also the biggest installment in Vogue magazine's history weighing in at over four pounds!

It opens in NYC on August 28 and in LA and other cities on September 11. Anyone know if it will be shown here in DC?

I have been on the prowl for a statement necklace for awhile and just picked up this unique necklace from Forever 21 (I am wearing it right now as I type)! Most importantly, it was really affordable at right around $15, leaving me with some cash to burn on some other goodies. Next on my list?... A new watch.

Today's Obsession

While most of my obsessions are glam and fab, today's obsession is just amazing...

Behold Domino's Chocolate Lava Crunch Cake!!! It is an oven-baked chocolate cake (but tastes like a crunchy brownie), and has warm chocolate fudge on the inside. It is borderline amazing.

10 Great Routines From SYTYCD Season Five

I LOVE LOVE LOVE So You Think You Can Dance. It is no secret that my favorite this season is Kayla--she is the BEST dancer left on the show and she is tall, blonde and gorgeous! She has been the best dancer from day one and she is technically flawless. Soooo graceful :)

BUT, I will say that tonight when the Season 5 winner is announced, it will most likely be Brandon or Jeanine (even though I voted for Kayla 103 times last night...) And for the record...while Jeanine is cute, she is overrated!!

On The Cover: Leighton Meester

Leighton Meester is on the September 2009 cover of Harper's Bazaar. I love her and I love that in the mag's interview, she revealed that when she auditioned for the part of Blair Waldorf, she bought herself a pair of red Marc by Marc Jacobs heels and says she "can't give them away because every time I wear them, I'm living that dream." Too cute! Now I am counting down the days until the Gossip Girl season three premiere!

VMA Nominees Announced Today

Today MTV announced its nominees for the 2009 VMAs with two of my favorites--Beyonce and Lady Gaga--leading the way with 9 noms each. This years award show will again be hosted by Russell Brand and will take place live on September 13.

Vanity Fair's best-dressed list now includes Barack and Michelle Obama. This morning on the Today Show, Vanity Fair’s Amy Fine Collins told Meredith Vieira that Michelle got more votes than any other person this year or any year. Love that the Obamas are making DC look good!
